HIKING FROM FONDOVALLE
Fondovalle is the perfect starting point for exploring the Formazza Valley on foot, through woods, Walser villages, and scenic mountain pastures. From here, trails suitable for everyone begin, ideal for immersing yourself in the valley's nature, culture, and history.

From Antillone, you pass through the beautiful forest to Alpe Vova, Cà Francoli, Salecchio Superiore, and Inferiore, before descending to Passo di Premia through the tunnel. Of great interest to the Walser culture are the ancient houses, a lime kiln, a communal sawmill, and a bread oven.

This pass, which connects the two Walser colonies of Formazza and Bosco Gurin, is less frequented than the better-known Guriner Furka. It can be traveled by varying the outward and return itinerary from Bosco Gurin.

Through the Guriner Furka, a historic pass at 2,324 m, you reach Bosco Gurin, a Walser settlement founded by the Formazzini in the 13th century. It's a charming wooden village that offers a visit to the ethnographic museum and the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snow.
